A medical emergency is an acute injury or illness that poses an immediate risk to a person’s life or long-term health. Please attend to the emergency department at Helios hospital in case of the following:

• Bleeding that does not stop

• Breathing problems (difficulty in breathing, shortness of breath)

• Change in mental status (unusual behaviour, confusion, difficulty arousing)

• Chest pain

• Choking

• Coughing up or vomiting blood

• Fainting or loss of consciousness

• Feeling of committing suicide or murder

• Head or spine injury

• Severe or persistent vomiting or loose stools

• Injury due to a motor vehicle accident, burns or smoke inhalation, near drowning, etc

• Sudden & severe pain

• Sudden dizziness, weakness, or change in vision

• Poisoning

• Abdominal pain

• Snake bite/ Scorpion bite
